After participating in Zero Art, a 2014 group exhibition at hpgrp New York featuring works by Japanese artists, Someya was involved in producing a catalogue raisonné on Inoue Yūichi, an experience that both taught her to view calligraphy as art and marked the beginning of her creative career. #calligraphy #worksonpaper #collecting #collector #richeldisfineart #ink #on #paper #japaneseartists #markmaking #gestures

W A L T O N Windsor Hill porcelain 26 x 27x 17cm British ceramics Royal Collage of Art / @rcasculpture Alice Walton (born 1987) is a British ceramic artist whose intriguing labyrinthine forms have attracted international acclaim. With a forensic eye, Walton translates the seemingly familiar into highly complex and multi-layered porcelain objects. Despite featuring intensely textured surfaces and complex colours, Walton’s work is also recognised for its meditative qualities. It is this tension between the repetitive and experimental, the calm and the kinetic that make her objects so compelling. Walton uses a landscape of objects, crafted from individual components to create abstract scenes. This repetitive nature of mark-making in turn mimics the constant review of familiar objects on daily commutes. As references, she combines collaged photography and drawing from memory which are bought into her studio to work from. This research then pivots her work away from the literal into an imaginary collection of objects.

Teague’s layered compositions, created on loose canvases, capture fleeting impressions of memory and landscape, drawing inspiration from Scotland and his Italian residency. The exhibition also features sculptures by Fanny Hellgren (b. 1992, Gothenburg), exploring time, transformation, and the ephemerality of terrains. Her recent body of works evoke desert-like islands and lunar landscapes, merging natural science with mysticism. Together, Teague and Hellgren create a dialogue between landscape, memory, and materiality, inviting contemplation of nature and our place within it. We are delighted to now present her most recent body of work, launching November 28th in Barcelona. In her latest series, Hellgren’s sculptures—crafted from sand, resin, and pigment—resemble isolated, desert-like islands that seem both grounded and detached. Their surfaces, almost iridescent in texture, evoke the rugged mystery of lunar landscapes, hinting at something unknown and un-worldly. These works invite contemplation of the human desire for connection and meaning, exploring how our sense of purpose is intertwined with our relationship to the world. T À P I E S Nocturn Matinal, 1970 Colour lithograph on paper 28 x 38cm #privatecollection Contact gallery for works on paper by Tàpies. Antoni Tàpies was a Spanish artist known for his mixed-media paintings that incorporated marble dust, found objects, and resin as seen in his seminal work Grey and Green Painting (1957). Social themes run throughout his highly textured and tactile paintings, which were influenced by his experience of the politics and environment of the wartime and the postwar state of the Spanish government. “If one draws things in a manner which provides only the barest clue to their meaning, the viewer is forced to fill in the gaps by using his own imagination,” he reflected. “He is compelled to participate in the creative act, which I consider very important.” Born on December 13, 1923 in Barcelona, Spain, he originally studied law while pursuing art, he became a friend of his fellow Catalan Joan Miró who was an integral influence on Tàpies’s early Surrealist work.#editions #worksonpaper #masters #collecting #collector #tapies #miro #spanish #minimalist #gestural #worksonpaper

C H A N C H O News coming soon of Solo Exhibition of gallery artist Joaquim Chancho / Paris 2025. Joaquim Chancho, born in Tarragona in 1943, is a leading figure in Spanish abstraction, known for his minimalist, geometric works that have spanned over five decades. His early investigations focused on geometry, composition, and tonal relationships, eventually leading to his hallmark use of black and white, horizontal and vertical lines, and calligraphic sequences. Chancho’s art balances rigorous abstraction with suggestive, relatable visual impressions, exploring the conceptual and emotional potential of non-figurative language. His work is included in major international collections, including the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, MACBA in Barcelona, and the Fundación Juan March in Madrid. H O F F M A N N Oil paint, acrylic paint, CSM, gypsum, synthetic polymer, timber, stainless steel and aluminium. 120 Ø cm." #privatecollection DM the gallery for details of available artworks by Hoffmann #2024 Ryan Hoffmann is an artist currently living and working in Melbourne/Naarm, Australia. After completing an MFA at the national art school of Australia and Glasgow school of art in 2014, Hoffmann has lived and worked in Sydney, Berlin, and Melbourne. Hoffmann is interested in his relationship with the natural environment, finding inspiration in the things around him – the sky, leaves blowing in the wind, light on the horizon. From this he makes paintings, sculpture and woodwork relating to his experiences of time, space, light, texture, and emotion. This is first recorded as notes, photos and studies which are referenced to make the works. Shaped canvases, forms moulded from paint, reflections, and cast shadows make up a practice that departs from but acknowledges a material tradition. Time and location-based titles as well as artist books containing notes and images catalogue his works within a larger ongoing series, presenting a system for recording his life and gesture as an artist. This ongoing approach to object making allows a studio exploration of temporality and impermanence. #projects #artists #hoffmann #richeldisfineart #visualartist #halo #collecting #collectorcolourfield #Melbourne #austrialian #emerging #artists #collecting #minimal #minimalist #minimalism
